Inclusions

• Authentication-based print release (“Follow Me / Pull Print”) — print jobs are held until the authorized user authenticates at the printer (PIN, badge, 2FA)
• Access controls & permissions — restrict who can print, what they can print (colour, double-sided, large format)
• Data encryption — encrypt data in transit and at rest on device storage
• Audit trails & print logging — detailed logs of who printed what, when and where
• Secure integration with remote / hybrid printing — enabling secure release from mobile or remote devices into office or managed environments
• Device hardening — disabling unused ports/interfaces, applying secure protocols, firmware updates

Exclusions

• Physical security of print rooms (locks, CCTV)
• Printer hardware repair (unless in your managed print contract)
• Legal or compliance advice on print policies

Prerequisites

• Print devices and MFDs must support integration with secure print / pull-print software
• Managed print service or print management platform in place
• Directory authentication (e.g. Azure AD, Active Directory) or identity provider integration

SLA Targets

• Authentication response / job release latency within SLA threshold
• Audit log delivery and review schedule (e.g. monthly)

• Secure print usage dashboards (volumes, users, exceptions)
